SUMMARY:October Art Show & Wine Receptions at LC Wine Studio
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a wine release party and artist show reception with Rosa d'Oro Vineyards and artist Richard Vargas on October 4\, 5-8PM and October 5\, 4-7PM. \n\n \n\nThe wine sampler featuring appetizers by Jonathan Hork of Professional Chef Catering\, will showcase Rosa d'Oro 2017 Rosato paired with salmon Wellington in aspic with fresh dill\, Non-Vintage Negro Amaro with a savory samosa with duck confit and roasted pumpkin\, Non-Vintage Aglianico with lamb stuffed mushroom topped with jalape o mint jelly\, and the 2015 Barbera with almond chocolate cake with a blanket of warm ganache.\n\n \n\nVibrant\, bold\, spiritual\, multi-dimensional\, symbolic\, surreal and intense are all words that come to mind when viewing the artwork of Richard Vargas. His work brings to mind that of Frida Kahlo\, Salvador Dali\, and Ren Magritte\, yet stands as his personal narrative of his own past\, present and future history. From an interview by Orange County Register reporter Richard Chang: An American Indian and Mexican-American\, Vargas' work penetrates the depths of identity\, spirituality and an ancient world that America seems to have forgotten. "I'm always trying to tie that together\," said Vargas\, "Identity is the only thing I know that's tangible. It keeps meandering around with me. It gives me strength and ties me with my family." \n\n\n\nRosa D'Oro is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery located on the Kelsey Bench in Kelseyville. The area is noted for its high elevation vineyards\, volcanic soils\, sustainable practices and clean air. Nick Buttitta will be at the Wine Studio during the Friday reception to meet with guests and talk about the wines.\n\n\n\nLake County Wine Studio is a gallery for display of arts and a tasting room\, wine bar and retail shop for the fine wines of Lake County. The gallery is located at 9505 Main Street in Upper Lake. It is open Monday\, Thursday\, Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 7 PM\, Friday from 1 to 8 PM\, and by appointment on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
